Bio

I’ve never really liked introductions. It’s hard to know what to say about yourself. My favorite variation of introductions in when I get to tell two things about me that are true, and one thing that is a lie. So I’ll try that–see if you can figure out which is which:

1. When I was in high school my friend and I made a movie that was put on television.

2. I was captain of the chess team in high school.

3. My most embarrassing moment had to do with the time I ate raw squid and threw up on the Vice President of the United States.

…Hopefully you figured it out–I wasn’t the captain of the chess team. Just kidding, I was; #3 is the one that is false. If you want to watch a clip of the movie my friend Peter and I made, it can be seen at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRF5BcI5jRM (watch at your own risk).

A few other things about me that you may or may not find interesting–I’m a religious educator with degrees from Brigham Young and Harvard Universities. Currently I am working on a doctoral degree from Brigham Young University. Right now I am a full-time seminary teacher.

I was lucky to marry Lani Olsen; she and I are the parents of five great children. We just moved to a new home directly behind Lani’s parents and are very happy to be close to family members.

My main hobbies are reading, writing and speaking. I frequently participate with Especially for Youth, Education Week, and Time Out for Women and Girls and love those programs.
