The seven last words Christ uttered on the cross are profoundly moving. They have been studied in various ways and whole books have been written about them. In 2020 I worked with Megan Cutler and Emily Hyde to carefully explore what church leaders taught about these seven final statements.
Using the Scripture Citation Index (tutorial), WordCruncher, and the Joseph Smith Papers website, we identified more than 300 times that church leaders have quoted these powerful words.
