The Ten Commandments

As a missionary, I felt really embarrassed when somebody asked, “What are the 10 commandments?” and I didn’t know the answer. After my mission, I took a class where somebody used finger motions to teach the Ten Commandments, and I’ve been using that approach ever since. It’s a little complicated to explain in writing, but here’s the video!

Learning/Teaching tip–the more you can practice this, the better. When teaching a class, I’ll introduce the first four, have the students review them with me, do the next four, then review the first 8, then finish 9, 10, and then review all ten. For the next few days in class, I will take an occasional 2 minutes to say, “Quick, let’s review the 10 Commandments” and run through them together, encouraging everyone to make the finger motions.
