Preparing for General Conference

Heads up! I’m creating content to help with Come Follow Me. Be notified of new videos via email, Facebook, or Instagram.

It’s one of my favorite times of year–General Conference is right around the corner! Here I’ve gathered a few ideas to help you prepare for this marvelous event.

  1. Be able to match the names and faces of the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve. Here’s a fun bingo game to help kids be able to match names and faces. Or you can watch this video and try your hand at the video quiz if you haven’t already.
  2. Learn more about the members of the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve. As Elder Neil L. Andersen said, “We rarely pay attention to someone we do not recognize or know.” You can see great photos and learn lots of wonderful information at the Church’s official page “Meet Today’s Prophets and Apostles.”
  3. If you want to introduce younger children to the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve try this fun video. The church has also produces a series of great videos for children to help them get to know church leaders.
  4. Test your knowledge with some trivia. Try this quiz from the Game Gal, or this one from LDS Living.
  5. In addition to learning more about those who will speak to us, I think it’s so helpful to go to conference with questions. As President Dieter F. Uchtdorf taught, “As you prepare for general conference, I invite you to ponder questions you need to have answered. For example, you might yearn for direction and guidance by the Lord regarding challenges you are facing.”
  6. Visit the official church page on preparing for Conference.
  7. Final Fantasy General Conference !!??
  8. Listen to the All In Podcast with the General Relief Society Presidency.
  9. Don’t forget to make some conference cake! 🙂
